Popular Questions and Answers

Why should I update my photos? Our old ones are doing fine.

You may think so, but you need to look at it from your buyer’s point of view. Having a new look tells your clients you are progressive. If they are not using your product currently, they need to give your product another look.

When is the right time to update my marketing materials?

There are many times when you should consider updating your marketing materials. If you haven’t done it in years, or if you are planning on attending food shows, it is a good idea. You should also consider it if you have added to your line or are breaking into new markets overseas.

Why should I outsource my work to iphoto food?

At iphoto Food, we have staff professionals with the experience of dealing directly with buyers in many countries. We know how the buyers work and what they look for when choosing a product for consideration.

Can I use the same marketing materials when looking at overseas markets?

You should always consider what is important when selling in a foreign culture. Things that seem important to buyers in the U.S. may not have significance in that particular culture.

Are there special requirements for marketing materials overseas?

Understanding the foreign markets is imperative when trying to hit the hot buttons with foreign buyers. It is also important to consider bilingual written or electronic materials. In many cases, foreign buyers speak good English, but it may be more effective for you to leave materials in their native language.

How do I get started?

You can contact us either by phone or email, and we will be happy to set up a time to consult with you about all your needs and concerns.

Are label changes expensive?

Price of course depends on the type of packaging your product requires. iphoto Food can save you money on the layout set up compared to most graphic companies. Many graphic companies charge you for each change, which can become very expensive. We also coordinate with your packager and foreign governments and buyers in order to make sure every detail is considered.

Will I have the opportunity to make changes on my marketing if I want?

We will deliver your proofs via a protected web gateway for your review prior to the final implementation

What kind of foods do you normally work with?

We work with Candy, Condiments, Desserts, Meals, Seasonings/Spices, Snacks, and Beverages. We also shoot Dispensing Equipment, Facilities, Production Equipment, and Production Lines.

I know photographs are expensive. What if I’m not sure I can afford it?

Ask any Photographer and they will tell you Food Photographs are the hardest photos to take. When they are done correctly, your new photographs should pay for themselves over and over again. At iphoto Food we understand food and food marketing. We have several packages so you can choose the one that fits your needs.

Once I have the photos, will I need to find a graphic artist to do a layout for them?

We have the expertise to do ad slick layouts, package labeling, web pages, and marketing pages to get the right information to your potential buyers.

Do my products have to be prepared at the time of the photo?

In many cases, yes. We will prepare your products according to your recipe and or directions in order to make it easy for you and your staff. Food product photos must be the original products if you are using them for packaging. You also want your clients to see what the product really looks like so they are not misled. This is critical when dealing with buyers who may want to see it before they get samples.

Why spend the money when I show my products at food shows where the customer can see it and taste it?

Food shows are very busy and it is a good way to get your customers to try your product, but they need good marketing materials to take with them if you’re going to be the one with the lasting impression. You also want to be sure your booth pulls them to you. Remember, there are a lot of companies at these shows. Many times people who may be interested in your product could miss it all together. It’s hard sometimes to be recognized in a crowd. We can help you with your exhibits in order to make sure your company’s photos and marketing materials are attractive and your products get the best possible exposure.
